Daily routine of running a starting layer farming operation.

Bart Onderweegs

Starting with a 30 minutes farm & bird inspection and 3 hours for

1. testing the water delivery system and nipples.

2. Calculating and evenly distributing one-third of daily feed rations

3. Egg collection

This routine is repeated twice – (12:30 pm and 5:30 pm) – daily. Eggs are sold daily. Feed is bought weekly and manure cleared (by conveyor belt with Hellmann's E cages) every second day.

Layers become exhausted after about 15 months and are sold off as old layers for consumption. New set of chicks are purchased and the same process is repeated.
